Dragons

I started the newest Paolini book, Brisingr, but I realized it has been so long since the last one that I needed a refresher. So I listened to the audiobook of Eragon (wonderful!) and I’m now re-reading Eldest. As I write this, one of our copies of Brisingr is on the shelf if someone wants it….
Then when I needed a new audiobook, I decided on Anne McCaffrey’s Dragonsong. I’m trying to remember when I first read the Anne McCaffrey books. I’m thinking it was eighth or ninth grade from what I can remember of my musical taste at the time. I was young enough that I missed the “science” behind threadfall and a lot of the subtleties of the societal structure. Even …um… *years*… later the story wears well with good characters, rich setting and undertones of the passion of music.
